I work from home and my boss lives in a different state he will be visiting to do staff training with myself? And 2 other people. He wants to do one on one training in my home, is this normal?

I have been in similar but different situation and it’s very uncomfortable.
Ask (or tell your boss) that you want to rent a small hotel conference room for the day or if you have executive office space in your area (where there is a single receptionist but lots of small different business), they might let you have that for the day. Also, I’ve heard of places that have “drop in” offices (google it and see if there is something in your area).
My situation was different. I was scheduled for a business trip and the company I was visiting ended up having a problem with their building (it was a large building and there had been a fire in the basement that knocked out electricity throughout the building for a few days). So they decided that they would just get me a mini-suite at the hotel and we would work in the main room, which is what ended up happening. You had to walk through the bedroom to use the restroom, it felt so uncomfortable, even though it wasn’t “my” bedroom. I haven’t been faced with the situation again but I would request a different solution.

it could be normal, considering taht u work at home and that they dont have an office in your city.
however, the better approach for the company is to get an office space from a hotel, as there are also two other employees involved.
u may wish to have another person or relative or another employee in your house while he is in your house.

He’s checking up on you. Complain and you might be fired down the line.
I would spend a few extra days cleaning the house, make sure the TV is covered (not just off- the cover should look like its in place every day not just recently), plan a nice lunch, have a sitter come in for the kids, and maybe even set up a nanny cam for your own safety (in case he or one of the others does something questionable- you want proof).
Is it normal? I don’t know. Would I be concerned? Yes- he’s evaluating people in their work area, looking for those that don’t work, that get distracted by their environment.
Oh, and if he seems to expect to stay the night- in a guest room or otherwise- make it clear that your off work time begins at a certain time, and that his expenses should be covered, and tax deductible.
Be careful, be kind, and be aware that your job is on the line.

Are there any work from home jobs on the net that are legit? I need to make some money but be able to stay home as I have small children. I always hear of people getting scammed and I want to know if there are any good ones out there? I don’t want to spend money to get information and I want one that you can actually make money doing. Any extra income would help right now. Please note…Canadian!
Stay at home moms- do you do any work from home? How do you earn money from home? Any ideas for someone who is looking for a way to stay home with their baby? I’m currently writing a book (about pregnancy and parenting, actually) but I doubt it will go anywhere. Ex’s mom used to stuff envelopes– do people still do that?

You could get work from a company to colate, stuff envelopes, do data entry etc. Be careful what you decide though. Where I live there are rules. I wanted to sell pastries and muffins and bread int he morning but I found out that legally I can’t without being bonded but I can take orders and deliver the food without beign bonded. Weird huh? I decided it wasn’t worth lugging my 3 month old around.

Taking care of my son all day is ‘w.o.r.k’ enough for me.
I couldn’t imagine ‘working’ while he’s running around. That would be some over the top ‘multi tasking.!’ =]
When I do go back to work, it’s going to be OUT of the home.
I enjoy being OUT in the public with people.
They do have programs (if you have the patience!) to be a Customer Service Representative. People call in and ask questions, or pay bills for Companies like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.
They call and it rings your home phone (separate line set up) and you help the customer.
I’m not sure about those stuffing envelope jobs. There were always posters about them when I was in school (my hubby is still in school right now and still sees them) .. but I think they pay you in electronics. lol.
You stuff a certain amount of envelopes and get a free DVD player, I don’t think they pay in cash.

Good luck with the book…have confidence in yourself! I live in a very small community and I obtained a food handler’s card. I sell baked goods off and on. Banana Bread, pumpkin bread, cookies, pies. It’s not a great fortune, but it helps with this and that. I tried the survey thing, but that was so time consuming, and I made very little money. Wishing you luck with all your endeavors!

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.
If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as ‘Best’.

A job is one form of a solution to the earning money question. Why bind yourself to a job when there are other ways of earning money (which are legit, of course).
I would think your best bet would be to work online. It enables you to choose your hours and you can do it from anywhere.
If you decide to go that route, please carefully select the venture you are adopting. There are a lot of temptations on the Internet that will only lead you to invest time and money and will not get you to your goal.
Affiliate marketing is an excellent way to earn money and when done right can be an income source for years to come. It’s fun too

Unless you have very specific skills, such as graphic design, web design, computer programming, there are no real internet work at home jobs. You will just be bombarded with all kinds of scams.
Does anyone here work from home? I am unemployed at the moment and receiving employment insurance benefits. I have been looking for a job in my field of work (office, receptionist) in the area that I live but I can’t seem to find any work. I am afraid that my EI Benefits will run out soon, and I will not have found a job. Hi I am a mother of two beautiful children, and like you I was looking for a way to stay at home with my kids and earn an income at the same time. I was searching all over the internet for a legitimate work at home job. And of course i was scammed and lost some money but I didn’t give up and kept on looking for what to do online till i found a survey site and started taking surveys. but it wasn’t enough to be signed up to one or two sites so I was looking for more sites that pay cash and not survey sites that enter you in a sweepstakes or try to sell you something or only pay you to fill out some offers. I found a few sites that had big lists of survey sites but most of their links were outdated or duplicate or they were just sweepstakes or a site that wanted to sell me things and called it a survey. Finally I found this site www. cashsurveysonly .com it has a list of survey companies that are free to join and pay cash.
