I know about the data entry and Google scams, and I know what affiliate marketing is. Question is, can you really make money at it? How difficult is it, and which methods are the most effective?

Just register at an affiliate directory. The best one in my opinion is Clickbooth, you can register below at a link I posted, its easy. The reason its the best is because they have the best products, best selling, and great commissions.
All affiliate programs are sold by links, just go there, register, choose a program, then get its link. Put it on your website, anyone who buys it from that link will get you money.

Ouch! If that’s your starting point I estimate it will take you at least 3 years learning very hard to start making any money, if ever!
This is because out there there are all kinds of professional marketers using all kinds of sophisticated method to make any money and before you make yours, you have to be at least as good as they are.
You wont succeed if your only goal is to make money. You are better of making stuff and selling it on etsy.com or starting a business on eBay, the market is cut throat and you can find a web designer in every area of town. If you like web design, you are passionate about it, and your goal is to help others then there is a chance that you can succeed. Had you started 10 years ago there would have never been a better time. However times have changed since then. Suggestion is find what you LOVE doing and see how you can make it a business.
Regarding your question, affiliate systems are ways a business can offer to pay commissions to people who refer clients to their company. In order for affiliate systems to work you still have to have visitors to your site and offer a nice enough incentive just to take off.
I was on the cingular website and a saw a link at the bottom where it I can become an affiliate of cingular for free…..what does this mean?

I do not like the movie download sites on Clickbank.com because their landing pages are not as attractive. I liked themoviedownloads.com but clickbank removed it from their system last year. Can someone tell me where themoviedownloads.com moved to or another affiliate program with better movie download sites than clickbank?
